According to the regional governor Zoir Mirzaev, the cause of the fire may have been an accident involving electrical wires running between two shops in the market area. A criminal case has been initiated under Part 2, Clause "b" of Article 259 of the Criminal Code in connection with the incident, and the Investigation Department under the Tashkent Regional Department of Internal Affairs has taken over the investigation.
Official reports indicate that as a result of the fire, 78 entrepreneurs in Block A, 11 in Block C, and 48 in Block E suffered damages. A total of 181 shops and 76 vacant shops were affected by the fire.
The district administration has provided 165 affected entrepreneurs with 63 vacant shops in the market area to temporarily continue their operations. They have been exempted from rental payments for two months.
Governor Zoir Mirzaev stated that starting from August 15, entrepreneurs will be relocated to vacant shops in the unaffected part of the market, and market operations will resume from August 17. Meanwhile, the regional prosecutor's office is working to clarify the details of the incident and provide a legal assessment, involving 40 investigators.
