A citizen who sold $150,000 worth of heroin was apprehended.

Employees of the Syrdarya regional department of the State Security Service, in collaboration with the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, apprehended a resident of the Okaltin district, born in 1998, with material evidence while he was selling counterfeit $150,000 USD to an "undercover buyer" for a real $30,000 USD. The information service of the SSS reported this.

It is reported that this citizen was found guilty under Articles 168 and 176 of the Criminal Code for committing crimes specified therein by the verdict of the Jizzakh city court in December 2024. He was sentenced to 1 year and 10 months of restricted freedom and is currently serving his sentence.

It is said that during the pre-investigation check, it was established that he had obtained these counterfeit bills, smuggled from the Republic of Kazakhstan, from a resident of Chirchik city in Tashkent region.

Regarding the incident, a criminal case has been initiated under Part 3, paragraph "a" of Article 176 of the Criminal Code, and the suspect has been placed in pretrial detention.

Currently, within the scope of investigative actions, necessary measures are being taken to identify his criminal accomplices, according to the report.
