According to information provided by the DHS, an assistant judge of the Dustlik inter-district civil court in Jizzakh region abused his official position to gain the trust of a woman living in Mirzachul district.
Specifically, in exchange for helping to expedite her mutual divorce from her husband and assisting in obtaining a portion of the marital property, he demanded 300 US dollars.
During an urgent operation conducted by State Security Service officers in cooperation with the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office, he was caught red-handed with material evidence while receiving the demanded amount of money in his office.
A criminal case has now been initiated against the assistant judge under Part 3, Article 168, clause "v" and Part 1, Article 211 of the Criminal Code, and "detention" has been applied as a preventive measure.
