Videos have been circulating on social networks claiming that colored wastewater is being discharged into the "Bozsuv" canal. Regarding the situation, "Uzsuvta'minot" JSC provided an official comment.
It was reported that there are 3 structures for biologically treating wastewater leaving Tashkent city. They are intended for domestic water from the population and are not adapted for treating chemical waste from production.
"In fact, every manufacturing enterprise must have a local facility for filtering chemical waste. However, due to the high cost of operating them, some enterprises are discharging wastewater directly into the sewer," the report says.
According to official information, the colored water entering the canal is primarily considered to be waste from textile enterprises. "Uzsuvta'minot" called on all manufacturers to refrain from such actions and to comply with environmental and social norms.
