Today, on September 29, the next court session for religious blogger and founder of the "Azon Global" portal Mubashshir Ahmad (real name Alisher Tursunov) was supposed to take place in the Uchtepa district criminal court of Tashkent city. However, this session was again postponed to another day - October 2, at 16:00. The "Azon Global" portal reported this.
No official explanation has been given regarding the reason for the court session's postponement. This is another delay in the court proceedings, and such a situation is not being observed for the first time in Tursunov's case.
For reference, he has been charged under Article 244-1 (working with materials threatening public security) and Article 244-3 (illegal distribution of religious materials) of the Criminal Code, and he has been detained.
Previously, at the court session on September 18, the state prosecutor requested a sentence of 7 years of imprisonment for Mubashshir Ahmad. The court proceedings are ongoing.
