According to Central Bank data, the state external debt amounts to $36.8 billion, while corporate external debt amounts to $35.4 billion. The amount of external debt per capita is $1,907.
Compared to 2024, the volume of external debt has increased by $15.6 billion. In just the months of April–June, the debt increased by $3.8 billion.
It is forecasted that the state debt will reach $45.1 billion by the end of the year and exceed $53 billion in 2026. This could be around 37.9 percent of the gross domestic product.
