The 14th UNESCO Youth Forum, organized by Uzbekistan in cooperation with UNESCO, is taking place in Samarkand on October 27-28. The event is dedicated to the theme "Climate Action and its Social Impact, especially for Youth."
Young leaders, experts, and official delegates from over 100 countries are attending the Forum. The goal is to expand youth participation in the fight against climate change and to advance their ideas on a global scale.
The opening ceremony featured speeches by representatives of UNESCO and the Government of Uzbekistan, as well as youth climate leaders from Nigeria, Egypt, Spain, Bolivia, and Brazil.
At the conclusion of the Forum, participants will develop the "Youth Recommendations and Calls to Action" document and present it to the UNESCO General Conference. The event will conclude with a "Musical Evening."
