According to preliminary research, it belongs to the coronavirus family — similar to viruses like COVID-19, MERS, and SARS.

The genetic structure of the new virus has identified a protein chain that facilitates entry into animal or human cells.

The research was conducted by scientists from Japan's Osaka University, Brazil's University of São Paulo, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the USA. So far, no evidence of the virus being transmitted to humans has been recorded.
