South Korea's special prosecution on December 29 concluded its investigation into Kim Kyung-hui, announcing that she had taken advantage of her status as the president's friend to receive bribes and influence personnel appointment processes.

According to Prosecutor Min Jong-ki's statement, Kim accepted requests from various individuals and in return received money and expensive items.

Kim's lawyers emphasized that the charges should be examined in court based on evidence and requested that procedural legality be observed.

As part of the case, Han Hak-ja, the leader of the "Unification" Church, is also suspected of presenting Chanel bags and diamond jewelry to Kim. Kim Kyung-hui has denied all charges and apologized for causing public concern.
