The speed limit on certain sections of the Tashkent-Chorvoq highway has been restricted to 80 km/h. This was established in the decision of the Tashkent Regional Council of People's Deputies adopted on February 2.
According to the decision, on the 19-74 kilometer stretch of the road of national importance "Bektemir-Chirchiq-Gazalkent-Chorbogh reservoir", 63 road traffic accidents occurred in 2025 as a result of non-compliance with the speed limit. Consequently, 15 citizens were killed and 50 people sustained injuries of varying severity.
In this regard, the maximum speed on six sections of the 4P-12 highway located outside residential areas has been reduced from 100 km/h to 80 km/h.
For reference, it was previously reported that speed limit signs in the city of Angren had been altered by unknown persons.
