According to the State Security Service, the chairman and inspector of the peasant market in Karshi city were caught red-handed while demanding 80 thousand dollars from a citizen in exchange for officially registering a 110 sq.m. shop, and receiving 30 thousand dollars.

Similarly, in Bukhara, the head and an executive of the Ulgurji agricultural market were detained while receiving 11 thousand dollars for allocating a 120 sq.m. land plot.

Criminal cases have been initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code regarding both incidents, and investigative actions are being carried out.
