Iran is demanding compensation from the United States and the withdrawal of American troops from the Persian Gulf countries as a condition for ending the conflict in the Middle East, reports the "Dunyo" IA, citing the "DW" television and radio company.
"The end of the war is also in our hands. We hope for its conclusion when, firstly, we have compensated for all the losses incurred as a result of US actions, and secondly, when we have provided a 100 percent guarantee for the future, which is also impossible without the withdrawal of American troops from the Persian Gulf," said Major General Mohsen Rezaee, a member of the council for determining the expediency of political decisions (Iran's supreme advisory body).
He said this during a conversation with journalists within the framework of a farewell ceremony for the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Admiral Ali Shamkhani.
According to him, the US presence in the Persian Gulf has been the main cause of instability in the region over the past 50 years.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian had previously stated that everything could end if the US and Israel recognize Iran's legitimate rights, pay compensation, and guarantee not to attack in the future.
According to information from Lebanon's "Al Mayadeen" TV channel, Tehran is demanding recognition of its right to implement a full nuclear fuel cycle at its nuclear energy facilities. At the same time, the demand for the withdrawal of American troops from the Persian Gulf countries had not been publicly announced before.
In an interview with the "NBC News" TV channel, US President Donald Trump said that Iran wants to make a deal to stop the war, but "because the terms are not good enough," it does not want to do so for now. He also expressed doubt that Iran's new supreme leader is "alive at all."
We remind you that since February 28, at least 1,444 people have been killed and 18,551 injured as a result of attacks organized by the US and Israel against Iran. In Israel, at least 15 Israelis have been killed and over 2,000 injured as a result of Iranian attacks.
US military officials confirmed that 11 people have been killed throughout the region as a result of Iranian attacks. At the same time, four out of six crew members were killed as a result of the crash of an American refueling aircraft in western Iraq.
