For your information, one of the main opportunities for women to enter higher education is the grant accounting for 4 percent of the total quota allocated for women from needy families (2,000 places). Candidates also receive a recommendation from the State Committee for Family and Women. Recommendations can be obtained by women belonging to various categories such as those from low-income, single-parent families, or those with disabled parents, and they participate in entrance examinations within a separate competitive framework, with the top 2,000 scoring women based on recommendations being admitted to study under the grant.
Recommendations are valid only for the first field of study and only for the daytime form of education. Women with recommendations can apply to 5 different fields of study. Their scores are calculated separately from the general pool of applicants, and those who score the highest are admitted to university with a privilege, while those who do not score enough compete in the general pool like other applicants and may or may not qualify for admission based on their scores.
