By the decision of the Namangan city court on criminal cases dated December 16, 2023, it was previously reported that Saidahmad Sultonov, the deputy governor of Namangan region for industrial development, capital construction, communications, and communal services, was detained and placed in a pre-trial detention center.
He was suspected of committing crimes under several articles of the Criminal Code, including abuse of power or official authority, and exceeding official authority.
On August 13, the verdict on the case of Saidahmad Sultonov was announced in the Turaqo’rg’on district court on criminal cases.
Accordingly, the former deputy of Namangan region was found guilty of committing crimes envisaged by 167-article (embezzlement or misappropriation) part 3 "a", 168-article (fraud) part 4 "a", 205-article (abuse of power or official authority) part 2 "a" of the Criminal Code.
The court deprived Saidahmad Sultonov of the right to hold positions of official and material responsibility in organizations with state participation, including the municipal system, for 3 years and sentenced him to 7 years and 6 months of imprisonment.
