In the Shaykhontohur district of Tashkent city, a Gentra driver hit a 19-year-old girl at a pedestrian crossing at high speed. The victim died at the scene due to the injuries sustained, writes Kun.uz .

The traffic accident occurred on September 18 at 11:30 am at the intersection of Samarkand darvoza and Abu Ali ibn Sino streets. The 28-year-old driver hit the girl while she was crossing the pedestrian crossing at a traffic light.

According to witnesses, the girl was alive for a while after the incident, but the driver refused to take her to the hospital. She died before the ambulance arrived.

"They said someone was hit. I rushed down in a panic. When I arrived, I saw the girl in a critical condition. I told the driver to lift her, to help her. Instead, he was holding an electronic cigarette and replied, 'I won't load a dead body into my car.' After a while, the girl passed away. The driver was driving at a very high speed. I came down from the second floor, and by the time I reached here, the girl was still alive. Then she died 5 minutes later. The ambulance arrived later," — said one of the witnesses.

The deceased's father, Akmal Sulaimonov, asked the law enforcement agencies to punish the culprit within the framework of the law.

«My daughter was like an angel. He had no conscience, no soul. His parents came to offer condolences but not a single word of apology. I heard that the guy is still free… Someone mentioned that he said, 'my car is not a hearse.' He spoke so strangely, what right does he have? May his own dead body lie dishonored on the street tomorrow… My daughter was 19 years old, we had celebrated her birthday at the end of August… I still can't comprehend that she's gone. Her brother can't even speak. Her sister hasn't eaten in two-three days; we're forcing her to eat. There are my mother, three more children, and my wife at home. Calming down and putting 5 people to sleep until the dawn prayer… Did she commit any sin, she must be punished… What's with him and smoking again?», — he said.

It was reported that the deceased was studying at the public health technical school named after Abu Ali ibn Sino.

The spokesman of the Main Traffic Safety Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Kahramon Khudoybergenov, reported that a criminal case was initiated by the Tashkent city Main Internal Affairs Department under Article 266 Part 2 of the Criminal Code (Violation of traffic rules or rules for the use of transport means, resulting in human death).
