On the first day of his visit to Kazan, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held a meeting with the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, within the framework of the BRICS summit. This was reported by the Presidential press service. 

Current issues of further deepening the extensive strategic partnership relations between Uzbekistan and Turkey were comprehensively reviewed.

The leaders of the two countries emphasized the importance of expanding multifaceted cooperation in political, trade-economic, investment, cultural, and humanitarian areas.

The Presidents noted the necessity of continuing active dialogues and effective exchanges.

Special attention was paid to the issues of advancing cooperation projects in the fields of geology and mineral resources extraction, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, healthcare, education, and other areas.

The need for regularly organizing joint cultural-humanitarian events was highlighted.

The leaders also exchanged views on the important aspects of the international and regional agenda.
