Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law banning the placement of advertisements on websites and information resources owned by organizations deemed unacceptable. This was reported by zamon.uz here.

The law specifically prohibits advertising on social networks Instagram and Facebook. The owner of these platforms, Meta company, has been declared an “extremist organization” in Russia.

According to legal experts, if the law is violated, fines will be applied not only to advertisers but also to those who placed the ads.

Experts talking to BBC estimate the losses for bloggers at 2 billion rubles (more than 23 million dollars). The ban could also negatively affect the revenues of large retail networks and marketing companies.
