An Israeli woman suspected of plotting an assassination attempt on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been arrested by the Shin Bet security service. This was reported by "The Jerusalem Post."

According to the publication, the woman's trial will take place tomorrow, July 24. She is accused of conspiring to carry out a terrorist act.

It is reported that the suspect, a 70-year-old woman, was a government protester and was arrested after expressing her "intention to kill Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu" in conversations with her family and planning to attack him with a grenade.

"Yedioth Ahronoth" writes that the woman attempted to acquire weapons by appealing to other activists of the protest movement and also sought information on how Netanyahu's security is organized.

After law enforcement received information about her intentions, the suspect was apprehended by the Shin Bet. She was taken to the National Bureau for Counterterrorism Investigations for questioning. The woman partially admitted her guilt.

Considering her age, health, and personal circumstances, she was released the same day under restrictive conditions. As a preventive measure, the suspect was banned from approaching the Prime Minister and state institutions.
