Israeli forces have withdrawn according to the first phase of the agreement mediated by the US.

In a statement on Sunday, the Israeli Defense Forces said that "terrorists fired an anti-tank missile and small arms at IDF forces who were conducting an operation to eliminate a terrorist infrastructure in the Rafah area in the southern Gaza Strip."

In response, the IDF began striking the area in order to eliminate the threat and destroy the tunnel shafts and military structures used for terrorist activity.

The Israeli Defense Forces stated that the attack carried out in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip was a "blatant violation of the peace agreement" and promised to take decisive action.
