The Indian capital Delhi received false reports about bombs being planted at several court buildings and two schools under the police. According to the report, court proceedings were suspended for several hours while security forces checked the threat.
Police investigations found no dangerous items, and it was announced that all the calls were fake. According to a senior police official, the unknown person who made the call immediately switched off their phone, but efforts to identify them are ongoing.
The false threat could be linked to an explosion that occurred during the year. One of the courts that received the bomb threats is the Patiala House Court, where the case related to the terrorist attack that occurred near the Red Fort metro on November 10 was expected to be heard. In that attack, 15 people were killed and dozens were injured.
On November 17, police arrested another Kashmiri individual suspected of involvement in the explosion. His case was also scheduled to be heard in court on November 18, and additional security measures had been preemptively implemented around the building.
