Canada will provide an additional $2.5 billion in economic assistance to Ukraine. This was announced by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney during a meeting with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy, reports "zamon.uz".

According to Mark Carney, this financial assistance will enable Ukraine to attract additional financing from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and will support the country's economic stability. "These funds will help start the recovery process," said the Canadian Prime Minister.

Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to Canada for the assistance being provided and emphasized the need to increase international pressure on Russia. He also said he would discuss with Canada the issue of strengthening air defense systems for Ukraine.

It was previously reported that Canada would allocate more than 92 million hryvnias to Ukraine within the framework of the Tallinn Mechanism to strengthen cybersecurity.
