According to the information from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, special recommendations have been developed and delivered to farmers and dehkans by scientists from the ministry and research institutes within the system to reduce the negative impact of cold on agricultural crops.

It is noted that some vegetable crops are considered relatively cold-resistant. For instance, crops such as onions, garlic, dill, radish, and carrots can withstand cold from -10°C to -15°C, and under snow cover, from -20°C to -25°C. However, additional agrotechnical measures are of crucial importance for other vegetable crops.

Specialists recommend a number of measures to bring crops out of the "stress" state after the cold. In particular, it is recommended to provide additional nutrition with preparations rich in microelements and amino acids, use fast-acting nitrogen fertilizers, cover crops with transparent film to retain heat, and maintain soil moisture through regular irrigation.

The ministry emphasized that all agrotechnical measures must be carried out in a short period and intensively. This is considered an important factor not only for protecting crops from the cold but also for preserving productivity.

Earlier, Uzgidromet had warned about the influx of cold and humid air masses on March 9-12. According to forecasts, in the northern regions of the republic, night air temperatures could drop to -7...-10 degrees, and daytime temperatures to 0...-3 degrees. In other regions, on March 11-12, nights are expected to be cold at 0...-3 degrees, while days will be warm at 2-5 degrees.
