A meeting was held at the Tax Committee of Uzbekistan, dedicated to the activities of bloggers, their legal status, and issues of taxing income generated through advertising. This was reported by the press service of the committee.
It was reported that, within the framework of studying the activities of bloggers, the 110 most active representatives of the field were registered. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that 55 of them are registered as self-employed individuals, and 33 as individual entrepreneurs. The remaining 22 operate under the status of individuals.
According to the Tax Committee, this situation indicates a certain discrepancy between the actual scale of bloggers’ activities and their legal status.
Additionally, the activities of six top bloggers with over 3 million subscribers were analyzed separately. It was noted that during 2025, they posted a total of 360 stories and 184 advertising posts.
According to official reports submitted through electronic invoices, the total income of these bloggers amounted to 2.7 billion soms. They paid 110.4 million soms in taxes to the budget.
During the meeting, the norms of legislation on taxing income from advertising placements were explained to the bloggers. In particular, it was noted that the status of a self-employed individual does not grant the right to hire employees, whereas, in practice, some bloggers engage administrators, assistants, and other specialists.
The parties discussed a number of issues related to the field. At the same time, a proposal was put forward to organize training events for bloggers on tax obligations and legal literacy.
The Tax Committee emphasized the importance of aligning bloggers’ activities with the requirements of tax legislation and ensuring transparency of income.
