A 26-year-old resident of Tashkent region, known on social media as Abdulloh (Qori aka), has been detained for making insulting remarks against citizens of Uzbekistan on his social media pages. This was reported by the Information Service of the Main Department of Internal Affairs.
According to the statement, “While staying in the Republic of Korea during October–November 2024, the blogger made a series of insulting statements against citizens of Uzbekistan via his public social media platforms. His remarks contained content that could incite interethnic conflict, insult national dignity, and discriminate against people based on their religious beliefs.”
It was noted that Abdulloh’s posts sparked strong public outrage and led to widespread negative discussions.
Based on the collected information, he was returned to Uzbekistan on March 25 of this year via Samarkand Airways from Abu Dhabi. Upon arrival, he was detained by law enforcement officers in accordance with legal procedures, and a preventive measure in the form of arrest was applied.
Later, the blogger admitted his guilt and expressed deep remorse for his actions.
“I, Valeriy Zhigaev, insulted our people on social media. I did everything just to gain attention and popularity. Now I realize my mistake. I deeply regret what I did and sincerely ask everyone for forgiveness,” he said.
A criminal case has been initiated against the citizen Y.V. under relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are underway.
